VENTURES AFRICA – Etisalat has released shortlisted nominees for the second edition of its ‘Etisalat Pan-African Prize for Innovation’ ahead of the AfricaCom awards Gala billed for November 13, in South Africa.
The panel of judges for the award reviewed the entries and established a shortlist of four nominees in two categories.
The shortlisted entries include Genii Games, Spantree, Efiwe Mobile Application and qCefa (Quality and Cheap Education for All) covering products, services and innovative ideas.
According to Etisalat CEO, Matthew Willsher, the prize aims to encourage and celebrate valuable innovation in the African broadband market and will form part of activities lined up for the Africa Com 2013 Conference, This Day reported.
“We witnessed an impressive array of innovative entries for the award categories and bringing some of the ideas and concepts to life will go a long way in improving the telecommunications sector in Nigeria and beyond,” he said.
The nominees for the award will accompany members of Etisalat Senior Management team in attending the AfricaCom awards ceremony in Cape Town next week.
