VENTURES AFRICA – Murray & Roberts’ (M&R) planned takeover of additional shares in the Australia-based construction firm, Clough Limited, was completed today, South Africa’s second biggest construction firm has said.
M&R, which initially owned nearly 61 percent of Clough, has successfully acquired the remaining 38.4 percent in a deal worth R4.3 billion (A$461.4m).
Austrialia-based Clough has also requested to be taken off the list of companies on the main board of the Australian bourse.
Murray & Roberts has capacities in design, engineering and other construction expertise.
It has experience in major projects, including the construction of South Africa’s only high-speed train, Gautrain, the construction of the Green Point Stadium for 2010 Soccer World Cup and the building of the Dubai Airport.
