VENTURES AFRICA – South-east Asian country, Taiwan will explore business opportunities in Africa as it plans to send business delegation to Africa before the end of February, a foreign affairs official of the country has said.
The Taiwanese business representatives are scheduled to visit Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Nigeria from February 24 – March 10.
“This is aimed at promoting trade and economic exchanges between Taiwan and West Africa,” said John Lai, director-general of the Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a press briefing.
Investing in Africa is expected to boost Taiwan’s growing economy, with several governments and corporations in the world already trooping to Africa for its investment opportunities.
Taiwan’s total trade in 2010 reached an all-time high of $526.04 billion, according to Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance.
