VENTURES AFRICA- First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited has partnered with MoneyGram International to roll out money transfer services across all its 270 branches in Nigeria.

The partnership, which certifies FCMB as an agent of MoneyGram, will allow the lender’s customers send money to their loved ones anywhere in the world, using a variety of innovative solutions.

FCMB’s Executive Director, Lagos and South-West, Mr Olufemi Bakare, said the bank’s decision to partner with MoneyGram was aimed at promoting financial inclusion and enhancing customer experience which would in turn help the bank “further connect with all classes of the Nigerian society by bringing financial services closer to them.”

The inclusion of MoneyGram to the bank’s portfolio of financial solutions will broaden the scope of value-added services it offer its customers as well as provide a suitable alternative to transferring money, mostly for those in rural settlements who lack access to proper banking facilities.

While identifying Nigeria as an important factor to consider in its quest to achieving its aims in providing remittance services to a growing community of customers, Executive Vice President for Europe, Africa and Emerging Channels of MoneyGram International, Mr. Carl Olav-Scheible, said MoneyGram will continue to add value to its services.
